Elisa Donovan For over 20 years, Elisa Donovan has been a part of iconic pop culture phenomenons. She began her film career originating the role of Amber in the iconic Paramount Pictures comedy Clueless. She followed that up with a turn on another pop culture sensation Beverly Hills, 90210, playing bad girl Ginger LaMonica. Elisa then reprised her role of Amber for three seasons on the television series of Clueless, during which time she shot the Paramount/SNL Films comedy A Night At The Roxbury. She then went on to play Morgan Cavanaugh for three seasons on the hit series Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
Elisa also co-starred in the franchise of family films The Dog Who Saved... (7th installment released 2015). She has had recurring
roles on multiple other TV series and starred in numerous
telefilms, including Your Love Never Fails, Eve’s Christmas, 12 Wishes Of Christmas and It Was One Of Us.
Elisa was also the star of the NBC comedy web series In Gayle We Trust, created and written by Brent Forrester (The Office). An unprecedented success for the network, IGWT garnered over 35MM views.
In 2013, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg handpicked Elisa to be the voice for her #1 bestseller Lean In. The audiobook also went on to be #1 on the charts and was submitted by the publisher for a Grammy nomination. Elisa returned to narrate Sheryl’s latest bestseller Option B. Released April 24, 2017, the audiobook instantly shot to #1.
Currently, Elisa appears in the indie drama Cardinal X with a cameo playing the elitist and alcoholic mother of Francesca Eastwood; and her first screenplay Wake Me When You Leave is in development and will mark her directorial debut. The film stars Lily Rabe, Chris Messina, and Jason Ritter, with Richard J. Bosner producing.
In addition to her entertainment career, Elisa assists in counseling and supporting women struggling with eating disorders, and is a proponent of spreading awareness and recovery. She has had pieces published in the “Chicken Soup For The Soul” series of books as well as having her recovery story featured in the book “Feeding The Fame” and documented for TEEN People. Elisa has spoken about recovery on many television shows including 20/20, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and most recently on Dr. Drew’s Headline News. And as a new mom, Elisa was a popular Celebrity Mom Blogger for People (voted Reader Favorite, 2013).
Originally from Northport, Long Island, Elisa grew up studying acting, writing, and photography, as well as riding horses competitively. She graduated from Eugene Lang College at The New School University in NYC, where she studied dramatic literature, acting and writing.
