Prop Making National Championship

Submissions for the 2016 Prop Making National Championship are now CLOSED!

Bring us your axes, swords, helmets, or ray guns! This is your chance to show off your props and handheld items. Let your accessories take center stage!

The top 25 entrants will have the opportunity to show off their props in a LIVE stage show during Stan Lee's L.A. Comic Con's annual Prop Making National Championship on Sunday, October 30 with special guest judges, trophies, and amazing prizes!

In addition, all accepted props will be ON DISPLAY for all 3 days of Stan Lee's L.A. Comic Con! All attendees will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite prop. The prop with the most votes by Sunday Morning will win the Fan Favorite award, and receive a trophy during the LIVE stage show on Sunday, October 30.

For purposes of this contest, a “prop” is a single item; it can be part of, or an accessory to, a costume, but must stand on its own. Think helmets, weapons, shields, masks; NOT Iron Man, but his Helmet or Repulsor Glove.

All entries must be made from a majority of scratch-built parts – no purchased kits or downloaded pepakura or 3d files that were built by people other than the person entering the contest. You must include evidence that the person submitting the prop made it themselves.

All entries must be submitted by September 30th no exceptions.

If you have any additional questions, please e-mail [email protected].
